Northswestern Wood Preservers Planer Mill part II

Work on the layout is slowing down for summer. More activities outside and less in the basment. I made some progress to the planer mill area anyway. Trackwork is finished and all is wired. I added a runaround to the Dawson Creek yard for better switching performance. And I could run the RDC straight to the station at Dawson Creek without an backward move when both yardtracks are occupied. The BluePoint switches got the links with little wooden knobs mounted to the fascia and all is working fine.
from right to left : Main, two yardtracks ( inbound/outbound) runaround, elevator spur.
new east yard ladder into Dawson Creek with the spur to the planer mill on the far right.
After finishing the trackwork and a nice evening with some friends with a lot of switching cars around, I decided to start with the buildings for the planer mill. First structure is the large warehouse for loading outbound cars with fresh plywood, particleboard etc. It could hold 5 cars on two tracks with raised floor level to the carfloors. I used two Pikestuff "The Shops" kits for the sidewalls and roof. I leave the isle side of the structure open so I will add some interior walls and a lot of inside details, lights etc. The second building is for the machines manufacturing the plywood etc.So this is a huge structure made from styrene sheet. It´s an concrete structure with a flat roof, two floors inside and an additional smaller structure also amde from concrete to the left. The addition will be the office building with two floors with a lot of windows, doors etc.
Another building leans to the left side of the office. This will be made from another Pikestuff kit and is used for inbound traffic delivering the byproducts for manufacturing plywood. ( Paint, varnish etc.)

I´ll add some more track where the two pulpwood cars are parked and build an Walthers Loag Loader for this place. The track will be for both inbound and outbound traffic. There will be some big logpiles reaching to the fascia. This is the place where all starts and the logs reaching the mill. The track will be embedded into the ground. The logloader could unload logcars and trucks.I want to buy some flatcars and convert them into logcars from prototype photos. So there´s a lot to do on this huge facility. More progress, soon
