Structures for the Layout II : G.E.R.N. Industries Limited

On the westend of the industrie district sits the G.E.R.N. Industries Limited complex with a large feed mill building and an additional elevator with silos and a covered area for hopper loading/unloading.
The mill is kitbashed from two Walthers red wing mill kits and some scratchbuild parts.
The elevator and silocomplex is made from Walthers ADM grain elevator, leftover parts from an Walthers farmers coop kit and Pikestuff roof parts and others for the covered loading area. It will get a lot of details all around.I´ll paint the structures with Tamiya desert yellow.
The roads are made from thin sheet glued to 3 mm kork. They are painted with different grey paint to simulate old asphalt. It will get some more weathering. Here are some additional pictures of the whole complex.
G.E.R.N. will receive covered hoppers for inbound and outbound traffic and also boxcars in front of the mill building for in and outbound traffic. There are spots for max. 6 hopper on two boxcars.

Structures for the layout I : Wrights Food Service Ltd.

The last weeks I worked on some structures for Dawson Creek.
On the east end sits Wrights Food Service Ltd.... One of the buildings is made from Pikestuff parts, the others are scratchbuild from sheet material. I have finished the basic buildings. I have to add the roof and a lot of details. The warehouse has two outbound loadingdocks for trucks.
Wrights receive goods mostly in boxcars in the coverd area and will also get one or two tankcars outside the building per week.
The second track in front of the blue warehouse is for storage and switching. The track with the yellow boxcar is the Team track. The truckloading ramp will get a roof. The base of the buidlings and the loading area will be rised to tracklevel.

Canfor Mil redo Part II

While I was looking at the new layout of the millcomplex I thought something was wrong with it. I started some discussions on several facebook groups about that. I was told that loading of waste products like woodchips are often placed in the farthest distance of the mill building. So I rearranged the tracks. From front to back are now the track for woodchiploading and two tracks for lumber loading. One track will end in the shed.
Entering the mill complex
Left track for woodchip loading
The shed will be scratchbuild and reach over the middle track
I call this are finished for now. Next part will be removing the blue foam, adding plywood for the base, lay the track again and paint the backdrop.Maybe I´ll go with a curve in the backdrop instead the corner....

Canfor Planer Mill reworked

I made some changes to the Canfor Planer Mill. I replaced the structures and changed the tracklayout. I removed one of the tracks but added some length to one of the lumber loading tracks, The shed on one of the pictures will be replaced with a matching scratchbuild shed. The woodchip loading track is longer. I´ll add more details when the buildings are permanently placed and the backdrop is painted....

From front to back : Lumber loading area 2 tracks and woodchip loading track

Final layout for the Canfor Mill
I´ll remove the blue foam and cut a piece of 10 mm plywood for this area. Most of the tracks are hidden under gravel or concrete. More progress will follow, soon.

Staging yard wired and working

Finished the work in the staging yard. All track are wired and the bluepoints are installed. Kork for roadbed is glued down and the Peco Flextrack is installed, too. I made some testruns on the finished section and fixed some wrong connections.  Now all is working fine and I could start painting the track next.
